Challenge

Proving that unmanned aircraft can operate safely and efficiently alongside traditional aviation in real-world, high-traffic US airspace - enabling high-impact missions such as organ transport, search-and-rescue, package delivery and border reconnaissance, requiring long-range BVLOS operations across regulated and complex corridors - with a long-term goal of enabling fully autonomous, pilotless vehicle operations at scale.

Solution

OVERWATCH provides the UTM framework - real-time airspace monitoring, mission planning, deconfliction and direct ATC integration - integrated with MySky Eco's MS-1D/MS-1L UAV platform. Phase 2 (funded July 2026, $400K) extends coverage to 18,000 feet and routes exceeding 500 miles across five technical workstreams: GPS/weather resilience, high-altitude conformance, SWIM-compliant ATC integration, predictive AI flight planning, and a regulator-ready flight-replay/audit engine.

Phase Status

  • Phase 1 completed - OVERWATCH UTM integration with MySky Eco platform validated against up to 1,000 concurrently simulated aircraft in VLL environments
  • Phase 2 in progress - high-altitude and long-range autonomous, pilotless flight capabilities
  • Dynamic GPS/weather signal mitigation and SWIM-compliant ATC data integration in development
  • Predictive AI flight planning and advanced flight-replay/audit technology in development
  • Field validation flights with MySky Eco platform targeted for Q4 2026
  • Full program completion targeted for Q2 2027 - model designed for East Coast corridor replication
